VEIC selected as part of team to implement California’s TECH Initiative
VEIC, along with Energy Solutions and a team of partners, has been selected to administer the $120 million Technology and Equipment for Clean Heating (TECH) initiative to drive market adoption of low-emissions space and water heating technologies for existing homes across California to help advance the state’s mission to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045. The program was created as part of California Senate Bill 1477 and is funded by revenues collected through California’s Cap-and-Trade program.

Rebecca Foster named CEO of VEIC
The VEIC Board of Directors has appointed Rebecca Foster to serve as VEIC’s new Chief Executive Officer. Foster was named interim CEO in July 2020 and has been a steadfast leader through the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic over the past nine months. With more than two decades of experience in the clean energy industry, and 10 years at VEIC, she is a proven and trusted leader, dedicated to the organization’s success.

Pilot program launches to improve transit bus procurement
In the spring of 2020, VEIC was selected by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to help deliver a pilot program that will improve the way transit agencies acquire new vehicles. The Pilot Program for Nonprofit Cooperative Procurements has launched with the objective of increasing innovation, promoting efficiency, and demonstrating the effectiveness of cooperative procurement contracts.
