VEIC, a sustainable energy nonprofit, is excited to announce the hiring of Sue Hanson as the new Director of Consulting. Hanson was most recently the Director of Clean Energy at Tetra Tech for eleven years, where she led a team of six consultants.

At VEIC, Sue will be responsible for developing strategies to expand the impact of VEIC's consulting arm. She will collaborate with other departments to bring in innovative and equity-centered construction projects, developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key clients and business partners. She will supervise a staff that works on projects to analyze energy efficiency and renewable energy markets, programs, and policies for clients across the country and internationally.

Sue has worked both nationally and internationally on clean energy initiatives. During her tenure at Tetra Tech, she led the enterprise-wide delivery of a $5 million client project portfolio that served utility and utility commission clients across North America. Prior to Tetra Tech, Sue was a Director at the Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation.

Uniquely qualified, Sue is currently serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP). She participated with the US Department of Energy and the US Environmental Protection Agency’s SEE Action teams that developed the SEE Action Guide for States.

She managed the Better Buildings Neighborhood Program for the City of Indianapolis, published whitepapers on various energy topics and was an expert speaker for industry events.

“We are very excited and fortunate to have someone with Sue’s mission-aligned experience, and national reputation join VEIC,” says Matt Doley, Managing Director, of Energy Services at VEIC. “Sue will make an immediate impact driving VEIC towards our goal of being a leader in decarbonization.”

Sue is looking forward to the new challenges the position will offer. “I am honored and thrilled to join the dedicated VEIC team committed to including everyone in a healthy, resilient, sustainable future. I look forward to helping deliver VEIC’s forward-thinking approach to designing and deploying clean-energy services spanning energy efficiency, building decarbonization, transportation electrification, and a clean and flexible grid to create a better tomorrow.”
