The World Resources Institute (WRI) partnered with VEIC to assist with the implementation of its Electric School Bus Initiative. WRI engaged VEIC to produce resources hosted on the WRI website, conduct outreach to school districts, and provide technical assistance to school districts across the nation. These efforts aimed to accelerate awareness of electric school buses (ESBs), provide publicly available information to support ESB adoption, and support school districts with hands-on support to launch projects, raise funds, and deploy ESBs. The contract commenced on September 1, 2021, and concluded on March 31, 2023.

This resource aims to help school districts evaluate evolving opportunities related to ESB charging and load management. It provides a high-level summary of the purpose, benefits, and costs of each charging strategy, as well as technology and implementation guidance.
