VEIC's CEO shares insights on energy affordability with Politico and Bloomberg Law
VEIC’s CEO, Rebecca Foster, was recently featured in Politico and Bloomberg Law to provide her perspective on a growing challenge in the Northeast: states are pulling back support for energy efficiency in the name of affordability. While the pressure of rising energy costs is real, scaling back energy efficiency funding could jeopardize the very tools that help keep energy bills low over time.
In Politico, Foster cautions against short-sighted decisions, comparing cuts to energy efficiency to “heating your home by burning all your blankets”. In Bloomberg Law, Foster explains that “without energy efficiency funding, while it may seem like a short-term win, energy affordability will be much worse over the mid and long-term.”
Foster has also expanded on this issue in VEIC’s recent commentary piece outlining the proven results of energy efficiency programs and how their removal will lead to additional costs for already burdened families and businesses.
