VEIC welcomes Jared Alvord as Managing Director of Business Development
Winooski, VT — VEIC announced today that Jared Alvord has joined the organization as Managing Director of Business Development. In this role, he will lead the continued growth of the nonprofit’s consulting and implementation services to help expand the reach of its innovative decarbonization solutions nationwide.
Alvord brings more than 15 years of business development experience leading renewable energy, decarbonization, and strategic sustainability initiatives with a focus on financing and scaling high-impact projects for communities across the globe. As VEIC enters its fifth decade of impact, he will play a key role in strengthening and scaling the organization's consulting practice, helping clients navigate a rapidly evolving energy landscape while accelerating meaningful progress toward climate and energy goals.
"VEIC has spent 40 years turning ambitious clean energy goals into measurable results," said Alvord. "I feel very lucky and motivated to help VEIC continue its mission to help communities and businesses deliver practical energy solutions that lower costs and improve affordability.”
In his new role, Alvord will focus on expanding VEIC's partnerships and consulting services, building on the organization's long history of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy use through innovative and equitable program design. His leadership will support VEIC's efforts to develop new strategic partnerships, deepen existing relationships, and help clients deliver the long-term benefits of clean energy and energy efficiency solutions to the communities they serve.
Alvord shared that VEIC’s mission felt immediately personal. “The demand for trusted energy expertise has never been greater, and I’m excited to collaborate across the industry to continue accelerating solutions that increase community resilience, lower energy costs, and support sustainability.
Outside of work, Alvord enjoys spending time outdoors skiing and hiking with family near his newly built net-zero "forever home." He is also actively involved in volunteer emergency response services within his local community.
