Webinar: Going Electric! Lessons and Planning for Electric School Buses

Online Webinar

Of the nearly 400,000 yellow school buses operating in the United States, nearly all of them are powered by diesel fuel. Diesel school buses emit harmful pollutants, including particulates and greenhouse gases that negatively affect children’s health and the overall environment. The adoption of new low or no emission electric school buses reduces children’s exposure to diesel pollutants, reduces transportation sector greenhouse gas emissions, and helps lower fuel costs for school districts.

Join us for our webinar to learn about the exciting opportunities presented by electric school buses. The Vermont Energy Investment Corporation’s (VEIC) Transportation Efficiency team will be sharing what we have learned from our extensive experience, including managing the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources electric school bus pilot project. Presentation topics will include:

  • Electric school bus fundamentals
  • Size of the opportunity and state of the practice and technology
  • Funding opportunities including pertinent information on the Volkswagen settlement
  • Steps to getting an electric school bus in your school district
