- VEIC co-led the renewable energy assessment for a comprehensive efficiency and renewable energy potential study for New York State. This study, conducted for the New York Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), characterized the potential over the next twenty years for eight renewable energy resources and thirty individual renewable energy technologies. In addition to contributing directly to the assessment of several resources, VEIC managed and coordinated the work of a team of renewable energy experts, providing consistent assessment methodologies, quality control, study synthesis. VEIC was asked to present the results of the renewable portion of the study to the Renewable Portfolio Standard Collaborative convened by the New York State Public Service Commission. We will also be presenting the results of this study at the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) 2004 Summer Study.
- VEIC was a lead contributing author and negotiator on the development of The New Jersey Statewide Renewable Energy Program Plan included as part of a stipulation agreement reached between the Natural Resources Defense Council and the seven natural gas and electric utilities in New Jersey. This plan was subsequently approved by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and served as the basis for the development and launch of New Jersey's Clean Energy Programs in 2000. VEIC served as collaborative advisor for the Customer Sited Clean Energy Program, which was launched within thirty days of the Board approval. In this role we worked with the parties to provide comprehensive support for program planning and budgeting, design and implementation of program strategies, regulatory reporting, customer and industry outreach, and the development of program marketing and evaluation plans.
