Shawn has over a decade of experience working for municipal utilities, investor owned utilities, and interstate pipelines. His experience includes power and gas marketing, pipeline and power plant development, utility rate making, and integrated resource planning. Notable accomplishments include authoring the Burlington Electric Department’s (BED) 2008 Integrated Resource Plan which identified a rate neutral path to a 100% renewable power supply by 2012, and implementing a successful demand response program solicitation for the City of Burlington in which BED acquired over 5 MW of peak shaving demand side resources. Since joining VEIC in 2008, Shawn has developed an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy for the City of Topeka, Kansas, advised the New York Power Authority as they design their 100 MW Solar Power Initiative, and authored several papers on topics ranging from Feed In Tariffs to Utility Load & Energy Efficiency Forecasting.
