Burlington is a beautiful college town on the shore of Lake Champlain (our offices overlook the lake and the Adirondack Mountains), just 30 minutes from skiing or hiking in the Green Mountains.  As the largest city in Vermont, Burlington also has an unbelievable number of restaurants and cultural events.  Big-city urges are also easily accommodated – Montreal is just a 90-minute drive, and Boston is four hours away by car.

 EVALUATION MANAGER -   Open until position filled.

Directs, manages and provides guidance for all evaluation work related to the Efficiency Vermont contract.  This will include managing the development of demand-side resource measure characterizations, our annual savings claim verification process, input on Vermont Department of Public Service's evaluation planning and work, development of measurement and verification plans and procedures for participation in the ISO-New England forward capacity market, and identification and development of internal market research tasks and/or other forms of evaluation.  Serves as the primary liaison for EVT evaluation and technical issues with staff for the Vermont Public Service Board and the Vermont Department of Public Service.  Also provides strategic technical guidance on evaluation issues addressed through the consulting work of VEIC's Planning and Evaluation group.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, public policy, eight years of technical experience with energy efficiency and/or renewable energy programs; and five years of management experience, or a similar combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired. Desired technical experience includes research, measure characterization, economic analysis of measures and programs, excellent knowledge of statistics and statistical analytical methods, as well as process and impact evaluation design, implementation, and analysis. Management experience includes leadership, facilitation, staff supervision, contracts, process design and implementation, project management, primary client liaison relationships, communications and the ability to develop and attain goals.

While working for VEIC, and representing the Efficiency Vermont contract, you will develop and maintain relationships with retailers and commercial distributors who sell ENERGY STAR and energy-efficient products.  Visit regularly, replenish point of sale materials, deliver training and identify new opportunities to sell energy efficient products and services.  Also participate in community energy efficiency events and campaigns, working with town energy committees, local retailers and Efficiency Vermont marketing to promote the sales and use of energy efficient products and services.

Requirements: Associates Degree in business and/or marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Self-starter with ability to persuade and obtain ongoing client commitment.  Valid driver's license and some Saturday and early evening work required. Position is based in Southern Vermont and requires regular travel throughout the region. Experience in energy efficiency and retail sales a plus.

This position will identify opportunities and encourageenergy-efficiency-focused improvements in existing and proposed industrial, commercial and multi-family buildings.  Perform technical and financial analysis and advise building owners, facility managers, developers, architects, engineers and contractors. 

Requirements:  BS degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, environmental science, related field and/or CEM preferred; minimum two years experience analyzing energy use, identifying opportunities for energy improvements, and assisting customers with implementation; strong communication, planning and organizational skills; and understanding of building and/or manufacturing systems and energy analysis techniques.  Individual must possess reliable vehicle for business travel.  Customer service and/or account management experience a plus!
